Kevin Howell | Chief Executive Officer
Kevin Howell Kevin Howell leads the Edify Learning team. He is a seasoned corporate executive who has served as CEO and President for leading companies in the field of education publishing and development. In these roles, he has led original curriculum development, assessment design and implementation efforts resulting in some of the most prominent and effective state and district learning initiatives of their kind.

Most recently, Kevin served as CEO for ACT Aspire, a joint venture between ACT and Pearson. Previously, he served as President for the K12 Division of The Princeton Review; as the Chief Information Officer for the National Education Association – nation’s largest professional organization for teachers; as Senior Vice President and New Media Strategist for McGraw-Hill Publishing; and in various senior technology sales roles for Digital Equipment Corporation. Kevin holds an Economics degree from Vassar College.

Throughout his career, Kevin has held true to a guiding premise: every child can achieve. This inclusive belief serves as an important driver for his role at Edify Learning. It is a career constant that not only brings significant learning opportunities to the widest range of children, but also binds personal satisfaction to all his professional efforts.

Bob Collins | Chief Academic Officer
Bob Collins Bob Collins is a lifetime educator having served most recently as Superintendent in the Grossmont Union High School District in San Diego, California. Prior to this position, Mr. Collins’ experiences were in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) where he served as Chief Instructional Officer, a regional Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum Instruction and Assessment for over a decade. In those roles in LAUSD, he supervised and developed curricular, instructional and assessment programs for over 700,000 students and 400,000 adult learners.

Bob Collins is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and has a Masters in Education from Loyola Marymount University. A career educator, he has received recognition at the local State and National levels. In 1989 he was named Principal of the Year in the State of California.

Anne Molina | VP Product
Anne Molina Anne is a results oriented leader who has over 16 years of experience in product management of educational technology products for K-12 and Executive Coaching segments. She has previously worked with Kaplan’s K12 Division and with The Princeton Review. In these roles, she spearheaded product development of formative assessment solutions by collaborating with some of the largest school districts in the country. She was subsequently the Vice President of Educational Strategy and Innovation at CORE K12 Consulting Solutions.

Anne started her career as a teacher and she uses her classroom experience and Master’s degree in Teaching to ensure that Edify Learning products are designed with the teacher as our primary stakeholder. Anne strongly believes that good products can only be developed by staying in close contact with the customers who use them. Therefore, she is actively engaged with our customers to ensure that their future needs are being incorporated into our roadmap through features that are easy to use and are of the highest quality.

Shekhar Tipnis | VP Operations
Shekhar Tipnis At Edify Learning, Shekhar focuses on defining the architecture and cloud deployment strategies. He believes that open source education content and mobile learning should play a larger role in expanding the educational opportunities for all students. Shekhar has sixteen years of experience in architecture and deployment of large-scale web-based applications, business integrations and secure financial systems. In the past, Shekhar’s experience includes working at international locations with organizations such as Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Citicards, McGraw-Hill, Wiley and i-flex Solutions.

Venkat Krishnamoorthy | Director, Technology
Venkat Krishnamoorthy At Edify, Venkat helps design and deliver solutions that blend technology innovations with a rigorous understanding of user needs. He is a strong proponent of using Technology as a means rather than an end, and firmly believes that his primary objective is to deliver value and a world-class user-experience to his customers.

Venkat has been designing and developing large-scale applications for the Education and Hospitality sectors for North American and South East Asian markets since 2000. He has worked on several leading online learning platforms for firms including CoreK12, The Princeton Review, SchoolNet (now part of Pearson) and Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). His roles range from Director of Technology, Technical Project Manager, Team Lead to Senior Systems Analyst. Venkat has a Masters degree in Computer Applications from the University of Madras in India.

Satish Govada | Director, Software Development
Satish Govada At Edify, Satish manages the software development team. He works with our customers, our product management group, our technology team and our operations group to ensure that our software is easy to use, delivers pedagogically sound solutions, and is cost effective to operate. He has extensive experience in developing software solutions for the education, financial services, and real estate industries. Satish holds an M. Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology.

Amardeep Misha
Amardeep Misha Amardeep was the founder of Edify Learning and now advises it for its technology and business strategy. He is also an investor in and advisor to several other technology, healthcare, and education firms. Amardeep has over 20 years of experience in developing educational technology products. He led the team that developed the industry’s first cloud-based Learning Management System platform (pearsonmylabandmastering.com) that was acquired by Pearson. He designed and developed the industry-leading online learning platform (that presaged the MOOC wave) for delivering full-time graduate programs over the internet; the platform was acquired by 2u.com. He was also the founder of a consulting firm that provides technology advice and software development services.

In 2004, he started the first integrated outpatient healthcare facility in Bangalore (theapolloclinic.com) that offers diagnostics, multi-speciality consultation, and pharmacy – all under one roof; it was acquired by Apollo Hospitals (apollohospitals.com) in 2009. Amardeep was an early investor in India’s largest express delivery network and logistics firm (dtdc.com) that now handles over 11 million consignments per month with 5800 locations in India and 240 worldwide. In 2009, he started what eventually became Singapore’s leading business services firm providing outsourced accounting, company administration and compliance services to several thousand clients; in 2014 the firm was acquired by Hawksford (hawksford.com). He was an investor in Tinker Square, an AI startup that was acquired by Google in August, 2014. Amardeep is also an investor in several award-winning restaurants in California (Lucques, AOC, Tavern, and The Hungry Cat) and has been an advisor to several startups and large firms including BofA, Oracle, Yahoo, Intel, 2U, McGraw-Hill, etc.

Amardeep holds a B. Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi where he graduated at the top of his class and received the President’s Medal. He also holds an MS degree in Engineering and an MBA, both from the University of California at Berkeley.

Linda McGarvey, Ph. D.
Linda McGarvey Linda is a K-12 Assessment Content Design and Development expert with a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Stanford. With over 20 years in the assessment industry, she has been a member of executive teams at CTB/McGraw-Hill, Riverside Publishing, Pearson Assessment (formerly Harcourt Assessment, Inc.) and NWEA. Currently Linda provides consulting services through McGarvey Consulting.

Linda has directed the design and development of numerous formative, interim and summative assessments. A former classroom teacher and trainer of teachers, she is most interested in online formative assessments linked to instruction that are easy to use and will provide the most value to teachers and students. Linda advises Edify on its content and product strategy.

Scott Elliot, Ph. D.
Scott Elliot Dr. Elliot has been conducting educational research for K-12 and higher education for more than 30 years and is a recognized expert in efficacy research. He is currently the President of SEG Measurement, a leading provider of assessment, research and psychometric services. Before founding SEG in 2005, he served in leadership roles for several major educational assessment organizations including Vantage Learning, Educational Testing Service, and Pearson Evaluation Systems. He earned a Doctorate in educational assessment, research, and policy from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Masters Degree in instructional communication research from West Virginia University. He is a frequent contributor to the literature in education, with more than 100 book articles, publications and conference papers.

Sushil Verma, Ph. D.
Sushil Verma Sushil has over twenty years of experience in building data-driven predictive analytics and decision-support applications. He is the founder and Managing Director of Austin Labs, a data science platform and consulting firm. He has previously served as the Chief Scientist at Enumerica where he created an innovative crowd-sourcing marketplace for advanced analytical applications. Sushil graduated from UC Berkeley with a Ph.D. in Operations Research. He holds multiple patents and has published several articles in refereed journals. At Edify Learning, Sushil guides the team on making statistical analyses and reports relevant to educators. He believes that multiple scores can provide a better tool for assessing student knowledge than our nation’s current single test score focused paradigm.

George Simon
George Simon George is a nationally recognized thought leader in educational assessment who has had a long and successful career in educational publishing. He served as the Vice President of Sales for CTB/McGraw-Hill and Harcourt Educational Measurement (now a Pearson company) and president of Assessment Systems Incorporated (now a part of Pearson VUE). Most recently, he has served in an Advisory role with Questar Assessment, ACT Aspire and, now, Edify learning. He has deep knowledge about K-12, adult, and certification/licensing assessment markets and uses this expertise to guide Edify in its product development and technology decisions. He has strong relationships with company and state personnel and decision makers throughout the nation. Mr. Simon holds both BA and MA degrees in Industrial Psychology from Temple University and is in the last stages of completing a Ph.D. degree in psychometrics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Sudhir Arora
Sudhir Arora Sudhir is a founding member of the Edify Learning team. He believes in leveraging technology to place the student at the center of the learning environment. Sudhir has over twenty years experience in designing large enterprise-class systems in the technology and education sectors. After working in various technology management positions at Oracle, Cisco, and Hewlett-Packard, he focused on building several of the nation’s leading education platforms for The Princeton Review, Pearson Education and 2u.com. Sudhir holds an MBA degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MS degree in Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
